NRL GRAND FINAL 2017 MONEYBALL PREVIEW

Storm v Cowboys
Melbourne make no changes to their 17 with the only adjustment coming on their reserve list with Ryley Jacks (14.2) replacing Jahrome Hughes. Cameron Smith (49.1) was outstanding last week and once again is well worth his high price tag especially considering the other HK options. Will Chambers (42) gets a nice uptick but considering noted defender Justin O’Neill has moved to the left since returning from injury this is no guarantee of his output, left wingers who have been downgraded v the Cowboys have scored tries the past two weeks so Josh Addo-Carr (28.4) is a smarter play here despite the downgrade. Billy Slater (40.2), Suliasi Vunivalu (34.6) or Curtis Scott (30) could also be better choices in the OB position especially Scott at the right price. Cameron Munster (38.5) gets a slight downgrade but still has a high predicted score and the ability to go very large any given week, Cooper Cronk (26.4) has gone up in price but down in prediction so he is best avoided in comparison. Dale Finucane (30.3) and Tohu Harris (32.9) are the best forwards to own from the Storm along with the cheaper Tim Glasby (25.8) and high upside pick Nelson Asofa-Solomona (23.6) who is also worth finding a roster spot for.
North Queensland are also unchanged from last week and even though Matt Scott (23.6) has been named in the 21, it is highly unlikely he plays unless there is a training incident between now and kickoff. Jason Taumalolo (40.6) has been incredible this past month, and in fact year but the reality of his cost makes him hard to have this week unless you were considering playing a nufty which rarely pays dividends. Michael Morgan (35.3) is also highly priced but the only cheap option at HF is Te Maire Martin (20) who gets a big downgrade so Morgan would be worth plumping for. The Storm are notoriously difficult to score fantasy points against as we saw last week with many Broncos dudding out, Ethan Lowe (31.7), Coen Hess (29.3) and Scott Bolton (27.1) are the form players here that still should poll well. There are a number of cheapies on North Queensland’s roster, while none are highly predicted there is still some value in John Asiata (19.2), Corey Jensen (14.7) and Antonio Winterstein (15.6) to fill out your 9, Jake Granville (24.4) surprisingly gets less of a downtick than most and would save you quite a lot of cash but Smith is so highly rated it is hard to justify this risk unless you are throwing him in a second or even third lineup.
